The Sign Up Meeting will take about an hour. If you’re new to renting, there might be a lot of new information. It’s okay to ask questions later or ask the Property Worker to go through things a second time with you.
There’s no such thing as a stupid question. We’re here to help!
Rent and Bond….
We use the same rent calculation tool as the Department: the Community Housing Rent Calculation Tool. Your rent is 25% of the assessable income of your household plus any Rent Assistance. You pay a bit extra for electricity and maintenance.
You will need to provide us with evidence of your income so we can work out your rent. You also need to pay two weeks advance rent when you start your lease.
You can pay rent via:
· Centrepay (if you are on Centrelink) (Preferred method)
· Cash to the office (Mon-Thurs)
· Direct debit.
If you are unable to pay rent please tell us at once. If you don’t pay rent and you haven’t advised us or worked with us to solve the issue you will be Breached and your tenancy will be at risk!
Bond is 4 weeks rent. You can set up a payment plan to cover this or you can see if you are eligible for a Department of Housing Bond Loan.
